Les Manyes DOQ 2013

Dominik Huber, not a Catalan name, is by now however closely linked with the Priorat winemaking region. The Bavarian-born winemaker moved from there in order to define a new version of this usually powerful wine: graceful, cool, mineral and elegant. Les Manyes is so highly rated year after year, that no one could deny him his success. From a very high, old Garnacha location on clayey, chalky soil. The grapes are not de-stemmed from the vines and are spontaneously fermented. The extraction process is very gentle, as ‘the power of the wine already lies in the berries’.  Though Dominik would rather speak of it as being an infusion. Mineral, floral, finely perfumed with a lot of verve on the palate, excellent arc of suspense, finishes long on notes of red berry.

  • Origin: Spain / Priorato
  • Producer: Terroir al Límit, Torroja
